Wie läuft die Studie ab?

• 3 Termine (insgesamt 6h)
  
  • Durchführung MRT (ca. 1h)
  • 2x Ableitung eines EEGs (je 2,5h)
  • Einnahme von Methylphenidat (in beiden EEG-Terminen)
  • Ausfüllen von Fragebögen

Wer kann teilnehmen?

• Männer & Frauen & divers
• 20-30 Jahre
• Einnahme oraler Kontrazeptiva ("Pille") bei weiblichen Teilnehmenden
• normale oder korrigierte Seh- und Hörfähigkeit
• keine neurologische Erkrankung
• keine psychiatrische Erkrankung
• keine Einnahme von Psychopharmaka
• kein Substanzmissbrauch
• keine Schilddrüsenfehlfunktion
• MRT-tauglich (bspw. keine Metallimplantate oder Klaustrophobie)

Ihre Aufwandsentschädigung

Für Ihre Teilnahme erhalten Sie eine Aufwandsentschädigung in Höhe von 60,-€ oder 6 Versuchspersonenstunden.

We are looking for: healthy women and men between the ages of 20 - 30 years with...

• Normal or corrected-to-normal vision and hearing
• No long-term use of medication (except contraceptives)
• No current neurological or psychiatric diseases
• No pregnancy or breastfeeding
• for women: actively taking a contraceptive is required

How long does study take?

We ask you to appear on 2-3 different appointments (based on your availability), the total duration is ca. 6 hours. 

What data will be collected?

• PC tasks (reaction time etc.)
• Socio-demographic data by means of questionnaires
• MRI (1x approx. 1.5h) and EEG measurements (2x approx. 2,5 h)

Study procedure/methods

For this study, you will be randomly assigned to one of three experimental groups (group A, B, C). At the beginning of each EEG appointment, you will receive a preparation. On one of the two appointments, you will receive the study drug and on the other appointment, you will receive a placebo drug (in this case lactose). Depending on the assigned group, you will receive a one-time dose of methylphenidate (also known as Ritalin ®), either 0.25 mg, 0.50 mg, or 0.75 mg per kg of body weight.
